Overnight pulse oximetry is a quick, non-invasive test used to measure oxygen levels while a patient sleeps — and at Velara Care, the entire process is designed to be easy, fast, and done in the comfort of your home. There’s no lab visit, no wires, and no disruption to your routine. We coordinate everything around your schedule.

Overnight pulse oximetry is a simple, non-invasive test used to measure a patient’s oxygen levels while they sleep. At Velara Care, this test is completed entirely at the patient’s home, allowing them to sleep in their own bed, on their own schedule, without visiting a hospital or sleep lab. Our process is designed to be quick, convenient, and patient-friendly. From scheduling to results, everything is coordinated efficiently — making it ideal for patients who need oxygen qualification without delays or disruptions to daily life.
We perform overnight oximetry using the VPod® UltraWatch, a comfortable, watch-style device that records oxygen saturation during sleep. A Velara Care technician schedules a visit to deliver the device at a time that works for the patient. The patient simply wears the watch while sleeping, then calls us upon waking so the device can be promptly picked up.
Results are reviewed quickly, and in many cases, patients may qualify for home oxygen in less than 24 hours, depending on clinical findings and physician documentation. Overnight oximetry may support Medicare oxygen qualification when sleep oxygen saturation levels meet established medical necessity criteria, such as sustained desaturation during sleep. Velara Care assists with testing coordination and documentation to help streamline the qualification process.
